This summer Andrew Suska Visited the Jewett/Cherouny clan! We spent many great times at Lake Dunmore, Leicester, VT. This picture was taken there. The water is so nice!!!!!!

Painted
I feel better with the paint using my whole physical body, even intimate: Marks made with fidelity. Stepping out on a primed surface with my rollerblades,is like beginning the decent on a steep slope on skis, a rush. After the first few marks I do not want to stop until they begin to make an impression on me. As hours pass while I ponder the color against a ground or maybe there is a need to move to the next canvas or color. Intuition is another one of my tools. The next color comes to mind in minutes or sometimes days but still I wait for it and it always arrives with its certainty. The surface is deep and I am on my way up to the surface from the base of the canvas, through to a hue of light or white. Even though there is this pushing against that surface and the paints compression I am thinking about a expansive feeling. Trying to think in reverse at the beginning the light is working it’s way up and outward. It is the opposite direction than we know in science where light it absorbed and reflected because it feels like a type of resonance yes and intrinsic resonance that I am working toward in each painted canvas. The dark and the saturated color, pushed and pressed down and simultaneously moving on the way toward the light or reflection on the surface. When they are pressed with light or white I can see back through the saturation in reverse from the light. This can only be achieved with paint not any other medium I think. Perhaps this it makes for me something more real here than I can describe.
